Tobelschlucht in Spiegelberg

The natural monument Tobelschlucht with the “Hohle Stein” (hollow stone) is a stream ravine of the Dentelbach of Stubensandstein with a small waterfall. Originally, only part of the gorge was registered as a natural monument, the so-called “Hohle Stein” (450 m above sea level). This is an outcropping of Mittlere Stubensandstein that has been washed out to form a sort of grotto. The amphitheatre-like surrounding rock walls of the Tobelschlucht are, however, no less worthy of conservation.

Hint: the Tobelschlucht does not lie directly on the “Swabian Forest Trail”, but can be planned as a detour to your hike.
