Following the Sign of the Scallop Shell

Even Charlemagne was supposed to have undertaken the pilgrimage along the Camino de Santiago.  “I’m off then”, wrote the German humourist Hape Kerkeling 1,200 years later, thereby unleashing a flood of emulators. He described his tour very entertainingly in his book, and pilgrims and more pilgrims followed his example.

Why don’t you follow a section of the legendary Way of St. James’s, from Rothenburg ob der Tauber through the Swabian Forest to Esslingen? A brochure with topographical maps, elevation profiles, a description of things to see along the way, and a listing of inns and accommodations can be downloaded here.
