On the Road with Electrical Drive

Cycling in the Swabian Forest is not only a sporting pleasure but offers pure nature with picturesque lakes, mills and waterfalls. With environmentally friendly e-bikes, all holiday-makers and leisure cyclists can experience a completely new and relaxed way of riding. Independent of your level of fitness or age, the vehicles with an electrical drive help every cyclist to discover the Swabian Forest comfortably and to cope with the large number of altitude metres with flying colours. On a tour over hill and dale, this makes it even easier to enjoy the idyllic landscape and the impressive sweeping views.

Under the title “Radeln mit Rückenwind” three brochures describe e-bike tours that can be covered in one day without stress. Those who prefer to take two days will find plenty of accommodation along the way. All three brochures can be ordered from the nature park.

On the road with an e-bike between Murrhardt, Welzheim and Fichtenberg. On the 67-kilometre circular tour between Murrhardt and Welzheim, there are lots of things to discover – important witnesses to the cultural history of the region lie along the way. Recreation is not lacking, however, as there are four bathing lakes along the route.

From Murrhardt through the northern section of the nature park. We highly recommend this tour to whoever wants to really enjoy this wonderful e-bike tour through the nature park with its scenic beauties and who has also planned the occasional break to go sightseeing or visit a museum. The 63 kilometres between Murrhardt, Fichtenberg, Oberrot, Mainhardt and Großerlach are a real pleasure.

From Murrhardt through the western section of the nature park; cycling with the wind at your back towards the west from Murrhardt via Spiegelberg and the Juxkopf to Oppenweiler. On the 60-kilometre tour, you will overcome three steep ascents with magnificent views – and this all in one day.

Points of departure where e-bikes can be rented are Murrhardt, Fornsbach and Fichtenberg. All these towns are easy to reach from Stuttgart and Schwäbisch Hall with the regional train R3. All the rental facilities in the Rems-Murr district can be found on the homepage of the district website.

Furthermore, a partial section of the 400-kilometre-long route “E-Bike Region Stuttgart” leads you through the Swabian Forest. Beginning at Schorndorf im Remstal, the route takes you past the beautiful Wieslauftal up to the heights of the Swabian Forest. Here, for a while, the route follows the tracks of the Schwäbischen Waldbahn with its unique viaducts to Welzheim. Information on the route, rental and charging stations, bike-friendly establishments, and the possibility of online reservations can be found on the homepage.
